Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disrupted global logistics and supply chains, the world's second-largest economy has been urging domestic factories to digitalize their operations and make use of resources more efficiently. As the worldwide outbreak of the coronavirus has also hampered the traditional manufacturing sector, China is actively promoting digital infrastructure and industrial upgrading to remodel its economy. According to MIIT, demand in high-tech infrastructure, AI, 5G and IoT reached a historical peak as the Asian country has been undergoing digital transformation. Additionally, Chinese e-commerce giants Alibaba [BABA:US], JD.com, and Pinduoduo [PDD:US] have recently established a consortium to provide measures for the coronavirus-hit SMEs in Wuhan, the initial epicenter of the pandemic.
